Failure. That’s September’s theme from EGP. I’m pretty excited with this theme, an idea came up while watching “In the Valley of Elah”. Not much more to write about at this moment however.

I’ve been working on another project too. A strategy game called “COM”. The mechanics are closely related to Cohesion theory, something which has come up in class recently (I’m an applied mathematics student).

More to come on both of these projects.

The Best of the Net list from EGP is out! Up until now there are 29+ uploads with a few more to come probably. Among those you can find “About Sound”. I’ve had quite a few downloads so far and yeah, I’m happy ^^

Over the next few days I’ll be starting a new project, along with whatever the theme for September.

On a sadder note, unfortunately I didn’t have the time to submit a game to Ludum Dare. Not too sad anyways as my weekend was great. Anyways, it’s voting time!

August’s theme from the Experimental Gameplay Project was “Bare Minimum“. I’ll write up later about the game I made for this theme and how it was developed, right now I’m putting it up for download. Be kind, comment. I’ve only had player feedback from close friends and family, so I want to see how the game fares out there.

The game is about using sound to navigate and collect 12 sound fragments per level. At first, the player will only find sound fragments, but the difficulty will quickly increase, with non-sound fragments having all kinds of mean behaviors. Use headphones or a good stereo set for a better experience (playing with laptop speakers proved to be a very frustrating experience).

First post and all the bla bla involved.

Here I’ll be posting the games I’m working on and some design notes to on the process of making these games. Please send feedback on the posts and on the games, getting feedback from outside my family/friends circle is quite hard.
